I suppose when you are a celebrity the world is your oyster and therefore you needn’t ask if you will get to embark on a particular project (no matter how far fetched it may be), but rather, you wonder when the job will be yours.
Such is the case with the following stars who are attempting to cross over to different public mediums, though whether they will be successful in doing is still up in the air.
TIM MCGRAW
Tim McGraw already has legions of Texas two-stepping fans and multiple Grammys to validate his career, but now he’s reaching out to another sector of the population—-young readers.
The country music star just announced he plans to release his first children’s book this fall titled My Little Girl.
He might not know a lick about writing books, but at least he knows a thing or two about his subject matter. The award winning singer has three daughters with wife Faith Hill, and says even his pets are female.
According to the book’s publisher, McGraw got help from singer-songwriter Tom Douglas, the man who is credited with writing McGraw’s hit song of the same title.
The book is reportedly about a dad and his daughter who, together with their dog, spend “an ordinary turned extraordinary day together.” It also includes a foreword by McGraw’s famous wife. The book hits stores in October.
LAURA BUSH
I’m not sure it’s her dream job (I think she already has that covered), but first lady Laura Bush will soon know what it’s like to spend an entire hour on live TV… as host of NBC’s “Today” show.
According to NBC execs, Mrs. Bush will “guest host” the entire 9 a.m. EDT hour April 22, the morning of the Pennsylvania primary. But show producers say don’t expect the program’s third hour, which focuses on issues that affect women, to be saturated with political talk just because the first lady is guest hosting.
Network officials say Mrs. Bush will participate in several segments and interviews during the hour including discussing clips from a tour she gave to Ann Curry of the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas.
Show producers say the first lady will also be joined earlier in the broadcast by her daughter Jenna to talk about their new children’s book, Read All About It!
