How Do I Love Thee? Start Counting the Ways!

I wish I had thought of this sooner, but we still have time until Valentine’s Day. You can start now or wait until Wednesday, to make it one week of counting the ways you love your spouse.

We have mentioned before that it’s important to tell your mate that you love him or her often, but it’s also important to tell the one you love why you feel that way. Doing so is a great way to show appreciation, and it’s also very romantic.

You can simply start writing reasons on the calendar, speaking them aloud, or finding other creative ways to make the point to your spouse. You can try the Seven Days of Valentines idea, and simply use blank note cards instead of Valentines, filling them with the reasons you love your husband or wife.

You could also bring home a balloon each day with a note inside, or simply slip a piece of paper under your spouse’s pillow each evening that expresses the reasons why your spouse is the love of your life.

This is a great way to make your spouse feel special and important. It is also a great time to build new habits or re-develop old ones, such as never leaving without kissing each other and saying “I love you.” You might also want to start leaving notes or love letters around more often, not just near Valentine’s Day, to remind your spouse just how wonderful you think he or she is.

Of course, you may have ideas of your own, which is great. These are just offered for inspiration. The main point is to show our spouses how much they mean to us, and that can be done in numerous ways.
