Good cookware is one investment that you will want to make. Inexpensive pieces can wear out pretty quickly and even become dangerous if handles fall off while carrying something hot or if chemical coatings peel and get into your food.
A good set of cookware will pay off in the long run, even if it costs a little more, not only because it will last longer but because it probably will come with a lifetime warranty, so the pieces can be replaced if they ever fail. Some cookware, such as those made out of cast iron can even be passed down through the family because it is so sturdy.
You will also find that good cookware will make a real difference in how you provide meals for your family, and it is a must if you fancy yourself a chef.
Okay, so how can you afford quality cookware? There are several ways. If you get really lucky, you might find some pieces at a yard sale in a better neighborhood. This is a long shot, however, so while it is okay to look, you might want a better plan for getting buying your cookware on a budget.
For my family, we waited until the holidays. Right before Christmas there were several sales on cookware. I combined a good sale with a coupon code and a free shipping promotion and got a rock bottom deal on a new set.
Another way to go is to shop at Bed, Bath & Beyond. They frequently offer high value gift cards of $100 or more when you buy cookware, plus you can use a 20 percent off coupon to make the deal even sweeter. When we priced high end cookware this way, we found that the price paid would have ended up being about 50 percent off the best price available anywhere else at the time.
