Want a quick easy way to clean all sorts of deposits that are left behind? From your thermos to your toilet bowl, you can take advantage of this short cut way to get things really clean.
My son loves to take his thermos to school. We fill it with milk, juice, and even warm soup.It is probably the one reason that he doesn’t mind taking his lunch to school every day. He says that his milk tastes better coming out of the thermos instead of a carton. I‘m not sure why, except that perhaps the thermos keeps the milk really cold. Whatever the reason, I’m happy to keep him happy.
But inevitably, the thermos can wind up with deposits that leave it stained or with a bad odor. I’ve tried soaking the thermos, adding backing soda and more. But I have finally found something that really works.
To remove all sorts of deposits, just fill the thermos with boiling water and drop in a denture tablet. Stir it up and then leave it to soak overnight. The next day, rinse the thermos thoroughly, and it will be sparkling clean.
You can also use this same trick to clean out hard water deposits from a flower vase. it also works on any staining left by mold and mildew in the vase. You’ll be amazed at how much gunk that one tablet can remove.
And the way that the denture tablet cleans a toilet is probably my favorite way of all. Drop that tablet in, add some boiling water (the hot water helps the tablet to dissolve, and leave it there overnight. In the morning, give it a quick brush and a flush. I wouldn’t do this treatment every week, since the tablet can get expensive, but it is certainly worth trying it out when you have stubborn tough deposits that won’t go away with other methods.
