Let us say that the kids are begging for the latest DVD movie. Or, you would really enjoy being able to eat out once a week. Maybe there is a small unexpected bill that needs to be paid. You know, however, that these things simply aren’t in the budget. Well, guess what? You may be able to find the money you need right in your own home.
No, this is not a scam for a reverse mortgage or selling your gold jewelry. Instead, it is just a guideline on ways that with a little bit of effort, you can find additional money.
Kitchen
Getting cash from your kitchen isn’t as hard as it sounds. Most kitchens have a few different specialty appliances that never get used. So open those cabinets and dig out the juicer, the blender, the pasta maker, the cookie press and the chopper. Collect whatever it is you haven’t used in a year. This also goes for gadgets, shaped cake tins, etc. Hold a yard sale or sell them on Ebay or Craigslist.
Another way to get cash from your kitchen is to skip grocery shopping for the week. Make do with whatever you already have in your fridge, pantry and freezer. Calculate what you would have spent. As long as you don’t overspend the following week, then it is free money.
Kids’ Closets
Good condition children’s clothing is in high demand. Sort through your closets and sell your outgrown clothing online or through an outgrown sale. With the later, the organization gets to keep a percentage of your sale, but you’ll have lots of traffic. Don’t be surprised if you wind up with anywhere from $40 to $150.
Garage or shed
If you have the storage space available, then rent it out to someone who doesn’t. Storage is an ongoing need for everything from cars to household items. Make your empty garage or shed work for you, and it will bring in some extra income.
