How To Find The Best Spring and Summer Sales on Food and Really Save

Finding a sale on food, is always a pleasant experience, especially when you need the item or items. Grocery stores regularly offer awesome sales, like 10 for $10.00, or per pound discounts. But there are other ways to save money on your grocery bill and needed food.

Here is a great breakdown of what foods are usually found on sale during the Spring and Summer months.

March

In March, many meats are on sale. In addition, cereals often drop as well as frozen vegetables and frozen meals.

April

April showers, bring may flowers, but the month also brings awesome deals on fresh Cauliflower and fresh Broccoli. These seasonal vegetables seem to cost less during these months. Often supermarkets will discount other vegetables at this time. Eggs also seem to be on sale quite often during April, I’m sure because of Easter and to fill the need of Easter Egg decorators. Often fish is on sale during April. Shop around for the best deals.

May

In preparation of the hot summer months, as well as Memorial Day, stores often place foods used for BBQ’s and outdoor eating, on sale. It is a great time to pick up hot dog and hamburger buns, hamburger meat or patties, hot dogs, and soda. In addition, Watermelon and Pineapple seem to be less during this time.

June

June is a great month for dairy sales. Milk, cheese, sour cream and any other products that contain a large amount of dairy, can usually be found on sale or for a lower price. Tomatoes are also plentiful.

July

Another great month for BBQ’s so everything listed in May, is the same. Also fresh fruits like strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, watermelon, canteloupe, plums, peaches and nectarines. Stock up, and freeze what you don’t use, to be placed in recipes. Also corn, squash and tomatoes are found to be great buys this month.

August

Most people spend a great deal of time outdoors in August. Barbecue items continue to be on sale, in addition to berries, apples, all types of melon, all vegetables used in salad, and fish.
