How to Have Fun Without Breaking the Bank

With spring break just a few weeks away some of the nation’s top kid-friendly attractions are slashing admission prices in an effort to woo cash-strapped parents.

Deep discounts are yours for the taking if you visit the following locations:

WALT DISNEY WORLD

If you’ve never taken your kids to see Mickey and Minnie in person, now’s the time to go. You can save hundreds of dollars by staying at one of Disney’s resorts and visiting the park. The deal, dubbed “Buy Four Nights, Get Three Free,” is good through June, but you must book before the end of March. The price reduction saves you up to $400 off the cost of a seven-night stay. Disney execs say they are advertising the discount more heavily than usual in hopes of drawing families during the park’s off-season.

HERSHEYPARK

At Pennsylvania’s famous Hersheypark (which features a zoo and amusement park) families can save a bundle this spring. Right now the legendary chocolate company is offering the steepest coupons in its 102-year history -— $15 off the $51.95 price of admission.

GEORGIA AQUARIUM

Right now you and your family can tour the world’s largest fish tank for the same reasonable price as last year. Aquarium execs say they decided against raising admission prices given the current state of the economy. Managers at the popular underwater world say with so many people losing their jobs it was “inappropriate” to raise rates at the downtown Atlanta attraction. That means a ticket at the aquarium will cost the same this year as it did last — $27 for adults. Plus, you can save more if you visit more than once. Each visitor will leave the aquarium with a “bounce pass” to return any time that year for $15. The aquarium is also brokering deals with surrounding attractions like the World of Coca-Cola to offer combination tickets at reduced prices.
