How to Host a Fitness Party

Want to host your own fitness party for you and your friends? Here are some tips for the hostess with the mostess looking to make her fitness party a time to be remembered – and hopefully repeated.

Your Guide to Hosting a Fitness Party:

Hosting a fitness party is all about planning for it. First and foremost, invite your girlfriends to join you. The number of friends you invite isn’t important, just have enough supplies for those coming as necessary. Also, be sure to tell them that it is a fitness party and to dress accordingly.

Secondly, pick out some fitness DVDs or videos that feature ten or fifteen minute dance routines or workouts. You can set up a jar with the names of the different workouts in the jar and let the girls take turns picking out what workout you’ll do. If you only want to do one or two – you can pick the person who’ll do the choosing by doing the following elimination:

  • Whose birthday is coming up soonest?
  • Whose been married the longest?
  • Who has the youngest child?
  • Who is the oldest there? Who is the youngest?

If you don’t want to go the fitness DVD route, plan a walk, bicycle ride or in line skating trip if you’re up for it. Plan to spend about an hour on the actual fitness part. When you are ready for a break, make some fruit smoothies and share some healthy treats like fresh vegetables and fruit platters while you catch up.

Alternating Fitness Parties

If you enjoy your first fitness party outing, make a pact and let each woman host her own fitness party – if you do this weekly, you’ll start getting in regular exercise in between just to get into shape for your weekly get together with the girls.

The other great thing about a fitness party is you can hire a nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga instructor or even a massage therapist to join the party once a month or so. By splitting the cost between all of the party, it will become a relatively inexpensive part of hosting a fitness party.

The point of a fitness party is to enjoy the company of your friends while engaging in fitness.
