How to Make Your Own Edible Arrangement

Edible arrangements are wonderful thing. You can give them to friends, bring them to a party, reward someone at work, or just have them at home for your own gathering. The only real problem with edible food arrangements is the cost. You can spend $50 for the barest ones. That is, unless you make them yourself.

Edible arrangements are not hard to make, and the ingredients that you use for them are usually inexpensive, especially if you take advantage of seasonal items and sales.

The first thing you will need to know to craft your own version is to figure out what type you want to make and how many people or servings that it should feed. There are so many possibilities, from the simple gift to the elaborate table setting.

Let us take a look at some of the common ones, and how to make your own edible arrangement.

Fruit Arrangement

Edible fruit arrangements look wonderful, don’t they? All you need to have on hand to craft wonderful flowers out of fruit is a melon baller, a flower-shaped cookie cutter and wooden skewers. For extra posh, dip some strawberries in chocolate and add them into the mix.

Cookie Bouquet

A yummy cookie bouquet is one of the easiest types of arrangements to make. Make your homemade cookies and then slid skewers into them while they are hot. Firmer, thicker cookies work best. To make them even more special, melt some chocolate chips and then drizzle it over the cookies.

Cake Pops Arrangement

Cake pops are fun. Little balls of cake covered in fondant, candy coating or chocolate are a big hit and easier to make than you might think. Just prepare a sheet cake. Crumble the cake into crumbs and then add some frosting–about 2/3 can per 9×13 cake. Use your hands to mix it all. Use a cookie scoop to form the mixture into balls. Freeze them on a cookie sheet until they are solid.

Use a skewer to poke a hole in the cake pop and then insert a lollipop. Dip or coat the pop in your favorite coating. Add sprinkles if you like.
