Shopping has been stereotyped as a female activity. Women are usually thought to do most of the shopping. Some are even thought to have a shopping addiction.
As we all know there are a couple times of the year when shopping is the strongest. These are the big days when stores have sales and women wake up early to be at the stores before daylight.
In previous article, I posed the question to you of your husband shopping on the day after Thanksgiving. While some men may go shopping with you, they may not actually be involved in the shopping.
In the malls I will often see husbands sitting outside of the stores on the benches while their wives are inside the stores buying gifts for others.
In many cases men have no idea what gifts are bought and who the gifts are bought for. Few men enjoy picking out Christmas gifts.
I can remember as a child going shopping with my mom and dad. Our shopping trips were set up completely different if dad attended. When alone, Mom would shop several stores and compare items and prices. Before we left from home, my dad always knew exactly what he was shopping for. He knew that store where he would buy it. He would want to go to that one store and no others.
I think in general most men have this same perception on Christmas shopping or shopping of any kind. They had rather pay more money for the convenience of a one time store stop than go to several stores for a better buy. Coupon clipping is also usually not in their blood.
I am sure that some of you may know men or have husbands that are actively involved in the Christmas shopping for your family. I would love to hear about them.
