I Fell Hard

OK so I may have had a hiccup with my weight loss. I had broken my ankle about a year and a half ago and it was a very bad break. I broke a bone called the talus that is in my ankle. Well since I broke this bone I have had so many problems, 12 weeks of bed rest so I would not put weight on it, multiple cortisone shots, 2 surgeries so far and they will eventually have to put cadaver bone in my foot to try to generate cartilage to stop the pain.

I tell you this because of the fact that the ankle has a tendency to let go and it makes me fall. So I look very clumsy. About 2 weeks ago I was getting my mail and the ankle let go and bam I am on the ground on all fours in the middle of the street. I fell so hard a car actually stopped to see if I was ok and needed help.

Besides feeling embarrassed I was in a great deal of pain I landed hard on the bottom of the knee where it meets my lower leg. It is swollen and hurts so bad still. I mention this not to whine about the pain but when it hurts to move your leg you are not going to want to be doing it. I did try to use the exercise bike and got to a half mile before I was in tears. So I will admit to all that I have been sitting on my booty for the last 2 weeks because it hurts too much to move.

I was at the health food store the other day and found an herbal supplement that is supposed to boost my metabolism without caffeine which was important to me. I know my metabolism has slowed down a lot because for the amount of calories that I am eating I should be a size 2. I also liked this supplement because it helps with the cortisol release. Cortisol is the hormone released when you are stressed and is a known fact in weight gain. I just started taking them to see how they will do. Fingers are crossed and ice is on the knee.

About Tammy Woolard

My name is Tammy and I am 40 year old mother of 3 wonderful children who came to us through domestic adoption. Although we did not have any fertility issues we chose adoption because there are so many kids that did not ask to be born but truly want a family to love. We did research on adoption choices and decided on domestic adoption through CPS. You would be surprised the differences between each agency. The adoption process is nothing like you see in the movies. I am also a 5 year breast cancer survivor. When I was diagnosed my kids were 3, 5 and 7 I did so much research I may have driven my Dr. a little crazy but that is ok it is my body not his.
