I is for Indoor Cycling

Indoor workouts are a great thing – especially during inclement weather. Spring, summer, winter or autumn, you can perform your indoor workouts no matter how hot, cold, rainy or otherwise the weather is outside. Indoor cycling isn’t just for people looking to work out, but also for athletes looking to maintain their fitness throughout the year – particularly cyclists – in the off season.

Cardiovascular ExerciseLeg Strength

Regular indoor cycling will build strength in your legs as well as in your cardiovascular system. Cycling engages every leg muscle as well as your glutes to a point. Regular sessions of cycling will burn excess fat from most areas on your body, but will provide you with toned and shapely legs.

The Mindset

Indoor cycling is supported by an entire subsection of the fitness industry. You can buy tour de France workout DVDs that will let you ‘travel’ to different parts of the world while you cycle away in your home. I’ve seen DVDs that take you to France, Italy, New York and much, much more.

The Anytime Workout

Indoor cycling is the anytime workout. You can do it anywhere and at anytime. You can do it at the gym, you can do it at home and if you’re like me, you can even watch your soaps or your favorite program while you cycle away. The great thing about indoor cycling is the workout it gives you across the board and how it promotes health and fitness.

Do you indoor cycle?
