I Love My Vacuum

I did it, again. I bought a new vacuum and I think I’m a little in love with this thing! First let me say that I will not pay $500 for a vacuum, I don’t care how well it works, I can’t justify spending that much on a vacuum. My wedding rings didn’t cost that much. I’m not cheap, I’m frugal.

I did some research on the internet and of course the name Dyson was everywhere, but even more surprising, so was Hoover, at about a fifth of the price. The reviews were good so I went to Kohl’s. The Hoover Windtunnel Bagless upright was on sale, combine that with a 20% off coupon and I got the vacuum for less than $100.

I brought it home prepared to be unimpressed. Last year I bought a Dirt Devil canister because I love canister vacuums and was very unimpressed. It was poorly made, the hose wouldn’t stay in the canister if you pulled it at all so I had to push the canister with my foot while vacuuming. As if I didn’t already dislike vacuuming enough.

Anyway, back to the Hoover. I put it together and after I cleaned my house on Sunday, I vacuumed. This thing is amazing! It works so much better than any vacuum I’ve had in a long time. It has incredible suction and, most amazing of all, it’s quiet! I can’t believe I’m going to say this but the sound of this vacuum was actually almost soothing!

For once I didn’t hate vacuuming. Maybe it’s been the noise all along. Whatever the reason, now I’m looking forward to vacuuming.

When I was finished I cleaned it out and that was a breeze. The filters are all cleanable and washable so there is less expense there. It was so much less expensive than the Dyson but I think it works so well. If you need a new vacuum that works well and don’t want to have to take a second mortgage to get it, this Hoover is perfect.
