I Really Wasn’t Going to get Sick this Year….

I wrote just this week about how I was going to avoid getting sick by taking Airborne, getting plenty of sleep, and taking my multivitamins. Well, it’s four days later, and as of yesterday, I am officially sick. Was it the Airborne? Did it not do its job? Am I just prone to sicknesses and I ought to just give it up and wave a white flag of surrender? Am I doomed to being sick forevermore?

Right now? I would have to say the answer is yes, sadly enough. Yesterday was a crazy day for me at work and as sick as I was, I had so much that I had to do, I not only did not get to go home early, I had to stay two hours late. My boss took pity on me and told me last night that once I got the stuff done that I absolutely had to get done, to go home and to take today off. I did just that. I slept for 12 hours last night, drank Airborne this morning and ate chicken noodle soup for lunch. I have good news: My cold has been downgraded from “on par with a flu please just shoot me now” to “a bad cold but I at least want to live.” Was it the sleep? The soup? The Airborne? I have no clue.

But never one to turn my nose up at free stuff, I checked out Airborne’s site and found a freebie on there: If you give them your address, they’ll send you a free sample of On-The-Go Airbone. Just in case my (sort of) recovery is in part because of Airborne, I thought it was worth a shot. I’m out of my supply of Airborne anyway.

Do you go to work when you’re sick? Are you just as productive when you’re sick or is it a stretch for you to even keep your head off your desk? I’d love to read your comments below!
