Recently I have taken a look into some of the details of wedding planning. So far I have discussed wedding dresses, wedding invitations and wedding guests. Today I want to put some focus on the wedding reception.
There are several different factors that influence your wedding reception. A couple of those are the food and the beverages. Most people put a lot of focus on the food determining how much and what to serve. However the beverages typically get les attention.
Although they may not consume as much of your planning time as the food, the beverages that you serve at your wedding reception are just as important.
The most common beverage to serve is punch. There are several different punch recipes out there to choose from. Some are made from Sun-Drop, some from Ginger Ale, and some have ice cream Sherbet. It is usually best to go with a punch that is not too sweet. The sweetness combined with the cake often makes guests even thirstier.
It is usually a good idea to serve other beverages with the punch. I think that it is a nice idea to have a pitcher of ice water on the table also. This water can be nicely decorated with lemon and lime slices. Many guests enjoy a cup of water, especially if the weather is hot.
Reception dinners are also usually served with soda or tea.
Many couples struggle with whether or not to serve alcohol at their reception. It is often a tradition for the bride and groom to have a champagne toast. Some couples choose tot have a champagne or wine fountain. If you decide to have alcohol at your reception remember to keep it in good taste. Fountains can be very elegant and also help limit the amount of alcohol that the guests take in. Some more liberal couples choose to have an open bar. This should be monitored in order for everyone’s safety.
When planning your reception food, keep in mind that beverages also deserve some thought.
