If it was good enough for Elvis…(Toasty PB&J)

Everybody knows Elvis Presley loved his peanut butter sandwiches. I can’t say I’m much different. The combination of peanut butter and banana is something I adore. Give it to me on bread, in a pie, in any dessert, or simply with a banana in one hand and peanut butter on a spoon in the other, and I’m a happy camper.

Here’s a recipe for a Fried Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich that’ll have your mouth watering for more:

For this recipe you’ll need: (For Two Sandwiches)

Four slices white bread

2-3 Tablespoons butter

1 banana, either diced into rounds or cut into strips

About 6 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter (depends on how much you like)

4 Tablespoons Strawberry Jam (optional)

To Make This Ooey Gooey Sandwich:

For each sandwich: Spread peanut butter on both slices of bread. Top one half with jelly if desired, and banana. Top with the other half of bread.

Option1: Melt butter in a skillet and pan “fry” the sandwiches on both sides until golden.

Option 2: Spread the top and bottom halves of the sandwich with butter and cook in a skillet like you would cook a grilled cheese, until golden brown.

Let the sandwich cool a bit before cutting in half diagonally. Otherwise, the peanut butter will ooze out and you’ll burn your mouth!

Enjoy with a BIG glass of milk.
