The other day, I blogged about some of the celebrities that we lost this year. The list continues:
March 16 – Natasha Richardson (45)
A Tony Award winner, Richardson also starred in many movies and television shows. Richardson, the wife of actor Liam Neeson, was killed during a skiing accident.
March 25 – Dan Seals (61)
Seals was one half of the ‘70s group England Dan and John Ford Coley. The duo was known for such hits as “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” and “Everything that Glitters (is Not Gold).” Seals died of mantle cell lymphoma.
April 25 – Bea Arthur (86)
A comedian, actress, and singer, Arthur’s strong female characters Maude Findlay from “Maude” and Dorothy Zbornak from “The Golden Girls” made her seem invincible. Arthur, who won a Tony Award in 1966, died of cancer.
May 1 – Danny Gans (52)
Gans, known as “The Man of Many Voices,” was named the Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year and headlined his own show for years. He died of drug toxicity, but his death was not a result of drug abuse.
May 2 – Jack Kemp (73)
Kemp played 12 seasons in the NFL before starting his political career. He served as a Congressman for nine terms before becoming Housing Secretary under George H. W. Bush. He ran as the Republican Party’s Vice President nominee with Bob Dole in 1996. Kemp died of cancer.
May 4 – Dom DeLuise (75)
An actor, comedian, director, producer, chef, and author with a passion for comedy and food, DeLuise was also the father of actors Peter, David, and Michael DeLuise. DeLuise died of complications from diabetes.
June 3 – David Carradine (72)
The beloved star of “Kung Fu,” Carradine thrilled a new generation as Bill in the Kill Bill series. He appeared in over 100 feature films in his career. Carradine died while filming in Bangkok and his death is still under investigation.
