The number one complaint of the average scrapper is time, or lack of it. Today’s scrapbook fans don’t have to deal with a shortage of tools, embellishments or photos; rather, they struggle with setting aside enough time to incorporate all of their items and ideas into fabulous layouts.
One of the best ways to make the most of your scrapping time is to pre-plan your layouts. Organization is key to designing sensational scrapbook pages in a limited amount of time.
If you are looking for ways to keep track of your ideas and embellishments, then consider purchasing a page planner. There are dozens of commercial scrapbook planners and organizers designed to help expedite page layouts. For example, the Memory Dock Page Planner by We R Memory Keepers is a great tool for photo filing. The divided page protectors in the handy binder help store and organize photos, memorabilia, embellishments and journaling notes for use in future layouts.
In addition, Cropper Hopper paper holders and page planner envelopes are also invaluable tools for the busy scrapper. The envelopes are a lifesaver for me. They are simple yet effective and come in 12×12 plastic carriers that allow you to stash photos and embellishments without having to break the bank.
Many of my fellow scrapbook pals swear by the Karen Foster Memory Planner. The 12-month calendar can be used to organize your scrapbooking materials or as a personal date book in which you can jot down memorable quotes or journal ideas.
If you don’t have the means to purchase one of the aforementioned commercial scrapbook organizers, then look to the Internet for free organization ideas. Organized Scrapbooks is an excellent website for free printable page organizers that you can use to pre-plan your layouts and other scrapbooking projects. Another helpful site is Creating Keepsakes. It allows you to download a worksheet that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to structure a mini-gift album for free.
