Insta-Love

I heart the Instagram iPhone app.

Some of my friends have ditched their traditional digital cameras, and now exclusively use their phones to snap photos of their kids and any other frame worthy subject. I still shoot with my camera, though not nearly as often.

For those of you who have not been sucked into the world of Instagram, the free iPhone app is basically a social network for photos. Once you take your pictures you can edit, apply eye-popping special effects and filters, and then share them with your peeps via Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, and a several other social networks. What’s more, you can follow other obsessed Instagram users and see what they’ve been snapping. You can even like or comment on images.

Another option is to simply upload your stunning snaps to your own Instagram stream. That way you can keep track of those candid shots of your son tossing the dog’s toys in the toilet and your daughter using her bed as a trampoline. By keeping your account private you also have the ability to select who gets to see the shiner Junior got when he fell out of the tree you told him not to climb.

If you are a true Instagram loyalist, then you probably already know about Casetagram. The service allows you to create incredible customized iPhone cases with your favorite Instagram photos.

Love, love, love this.

All you need to do is to select the hottest shots from your Instagram feed and for about $35 you can get them printed on a hard-shell, plastic case that fits any iPhone 4 or 4s. The Casetagram website has a collection of different templates you can use to design your own durable holder. Navigating the site is easy. The hard part is picking which of your gorgeous shots you want displayed on your totally amazing looking case.
