NPR has an episode of “All Things Considered” that was released on April 26, 2012. This episode is called “Colorado Extends Medicaid To Some Adults Without Kids”. Typically, Medicaid covers children, women who are pregnant, people with certain types of disabilities, and people who are over the age of 65. Colorado found a way to extend its Medicaid program to cover adults who do not have kids, who are not disabled, who are not pregnant, and who are younger than age 65.

NPR released an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on April 24, 2012. This episode is called “If the Health Care Overhaul Goes Down, Could Medicare Follow?” This episode discusses what some experts believe will happen if the Supreme Court decides to strike down the entire Affordable Care Act.

NPR has an episode of “All Things Considered” that was released on April 24, 2012. The episode is called “Los Angeles Bets On Crusading Doctor To Turn Around Public Health System”. Dr. Mitch Katz is the director of the LA county’s Department of Health Services. He is making changes to help uninsured people receive health care, and more changes to get LA’s health care system ready for the health reform requirements that will take place in 2014.

PBS NewsHour has an episode that was released on April 27, 2012. This episode is called “High-Deductible Plans a ‘Quiet Revolution in Health Insurance’”. In this episode, Health correspondent Betty Ann Bowser reports about a growing trend toward high-deductible health plans. There are concerns that these types of plans could encourage people to delay receiving needed medical care.
