NPR has an episode of “All Things Considered” that was released on January 20, 2012. This episode is called “Administration Stands Firm on Birth Control Coverage”.

This episode mentions that the Obama administration did not back down to a lobbying effort by the Catholic Church, in regards to the requirement that all health insurance plans must cover the cost of birth control. Churches are exempt from this requirement. Religious hospitals, social services, and other businesses are not exempt. Those business will get an extra year before they have to comply with this health reform law.

NPR has an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on January 17, 2012. This episode is called “GOP Keeps Health Care Overhaul In Its Sights”.

In this episode, host Steve Inskeep speaks with Renee Montagne, about what impact the presidential election and the Supreme Court will have on the 2010 health care overhaul law. Several parts of that law have already taken effect, and are helping people to obtain health insurance coverage. They point out that the Republican candidates are interested in repealing the entire Affordable Care Act, and that doing so would cost a great deal of money, (that has to come from somewhere).

CNN has an video with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. He looks at the GOP contender’s positions on health care, and compares what they are saying about it today, and what they have said about it in the past. The focus of this episode is on Newt Gingrich, and his changing views on “RomneyCare”. He also looks at Ron Paul’s views on health care.

PBS NewsHour released an episode on January 13, 2012. This episode is called “Health Reform: Changing the Game for Pediatric Cancer Patients?” This episode points out the changes that have been made to health insurance as a part of the Affordable Care Act that have truly helped families of children who have cancer.

Insurance Journal has an episode that was released on January 18, 2012. This episode is called “At-Home Insurance Careers for Disabled Veterans”. Insurance agents Gary Trippe and Jim Peder talk about an idea called Disabled Veterans Insurance Careers. It will guide disabled veterans into careers in insurance. The agents want to train and employ disabled veterans in sales and service jobs that they can do from their homes.
