NPR released an episode of “All Things Considered” on July 14, 2012. This episode is called “Pennsylvania Cuts Medicaid Coverage For Dental Care”. This episode discusses recent changes to the Medicaid program in Pennsylvania. The state has decided to limit the dental coverage in Medicaid to cleanings, fillings, and extractions. It also limits the number of dentures a person can receive.
NPR released an episode of “All Things Considered” on July 13, 2012. This episode is called “Governors Spar Over Medicaid and Health Exchanges”.
Governors are going to need to make a decision soon: should the set up a state health insurance exchange, or should they let the federal government make one for them? They also need to make a decision about whether or not to expand their Medicaid programs. Overall, the reasoning comes down to concerns about money.
NPR released an episode of “Weekend Edition Sunday” on July 15, 2012. This episode is called “Eyes on Election, Governors Hedge On Health Care”.
This episode points out that some Governors are choosing to criticize the Affordable Care Act. Specifically, these Governors are complaining about the opportunity to expand their Medicaid program. Yet, some of these Governors won’t clarify on whether or not they have accepted federal funding to expand their Medicaid program until after the election.
NPR released an episode of “Morning Edition” on July 11, 2012. This episode is called “Will Medicaid Bring the Uninsured Out of the Woodwork?”
This episode points out that there are some Governors who are fearful that when the Affordable Care Act law goes into affect in 2014, and people start using the exchanges, that millions of uninsured people will become informed that they are eligible for Medicaid. The exchanges will also make it easier for people to sign up for Medicaid.
NPR released an episode of “Morning Edition” on July 9, 2012. This episode is called “GOP to Make 31st Attempt To Repeal Obamacare Act”. The episode notes that the House of Representatives voted, for the thirty-first time, to repeal the Affordable Care Act. And, just like the previous times, the bill did not make it past the Senate.
