It seems that we finally have a confirmed release date for the new Apple iPhone. No more speculations or rumors. The confirmed release date for the Apple iPhone is….drumroll…hey have I ever told you about the time that I skinned my knee on the playground and..just kidding. I’ll keep you in suspense no longer. June 29th is the date for the iPhone release!
Last night, Apple added three new iPhone commercials to its website. In all three of the commercials, the June 29th date is mentioned. All of the commercials also state that a two-year contract is required for the iPhone. That is going to be a big disappointment to my husband, who was hoping to get an iPhone without actually connecting it to a phone service. Yes, mac lover that he is, he wants it just for the other cool features that it has.
There are some interesting clues to be had by observing the new iPhone commercials. For one, the little web browser icon on the screen says Safari. Safari is a web browser that is exclusive to Mac OS X, a clue that the iPhone must be running some sort of scaled down version of the Mac OS X operating system. I wonder if Apple hopes that Windows users who purchase the iPhone and get used to the Mac OS X operating system will consider switching over to a Mac for their desktop and laptop computers.
Another interesting tidbit from the commercials is the fact that icons on the screen are in a different order than what we have seen in previous images of the iPhone. Does that mean that the icons can be customized, or is it simply a matter of the designers deciding that things look better in a different order?
And finally, the date on the iPhone in the ads was June 3rd, the date they released the commercials. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Will you be buying an iPhone?
