Is it May already?

At times it feels like it took forever for spring weather to get here, while at others it seems like this year is slipping by so fast.

This is the time of year when people start getting out and about more. Whether it’s out in the yard, or out around town, people seem to find things to do that get them out of the house. After a long winter, it’s good to feel the sun on your face (after applying sunscreen of course) and to enjoy a soft breeze.

So, our blogs will also start turning to topics that relate more to warm weather. We will of course continue with other types of articles, but you can certainly expect plenty of spring and summer tips and ideas.

Summer vacation will be here before we know it, so we’ll be touching on that too. When do your kids get out of school?

Are you ready for all those papers teachers send home this time of year as they clean out their classrooms into your children’s backpacks? Maybe we can come up with some ideas to help alleviate the paper mountain. One good idea is to take papers such as school notes and things that are no longer needed, and cut them down to use as scratch paper. You will not only shrink the pile, but you’ll also be recycling as well as saving the cost of scratch pads.

This is also a good time to shop clearance sales to get ready for next year. I usually go with one size bigger than what the kids currently wear. Those end of season sales and deals can really add up.

Another warm weather tip: If you plan to do any camping, don’t put off making your reservations. You might actually want to visit the campground if it isn’t too far away, in order to pick out a really great spot. You can also look online to get a general layout of the campground, to see how near you will be to the swimming area, showers, etc. It is probably already a little late for Memorial Day, but you might still be able to get a good spot for Fourth of July and Labor Day, if you hurry.
