Is It Time For a Fitness Makeover?

While I haven’t watched it in some time, one of my favorite television shows used to be “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” I loved the stories behind the families who were chosen and the excitement on their faces the first time they laid eyes on their new home.

There are so many other types of “makeover” shows on now…everything from your clothes, to plastic surgery. So what is the draw to makeovers? It’s a chance for something new, a fresh start in life. It can be very inspiring and motivating.

The same is true in fitness. So perhaps it is time for a fitness makeover. Perhaps you need to revamp things. It could be that your life has lacked fitness. So for you a fitness makeover would be developing a plan to get started. To another person, their fitness routine has been the same thing for the last five years. It may be time to introduce something new.

It doesn’t matter where you are on the scale of experience when it comes to fitness. If you have been doing it a week or 20 years, it could be that you are in desperate need of a fitness makeover.

With a fitness makeover, you have to consider everything from your lifestyle choices to what you eat and if you exercise.

Start with your lifestyle choices. What is in need of a makeover? Do you smoke? Are you constantly stressed? Do you lack adequate sleep? By making changes with some of your lifestyle choices, you are on your way to a fitness makeover.

What about you’re eating habits? Do you overeat? Eat only unhealthy foods? Snack constantly throughout the day? Even small changes in your eating habits can get you started on a fitness makeover.

Do you exercise? Do you use a variety of exercises? Are you pushing yourself too hard, too little? Do you need a workout partner? These are just some of the questions you might consider that could also spur you on to a fitness makeover.

The idea of a makeover is you work from top to bottom. In the home makeover shows, they don’t just fix up one room. They start from scratch and makeover the entire home. It’s about the whole person as well, when it comes to a fitness makeover. So tell me, is it time for a fitness makeover?
