It’s Time To Think Pink

It’s that time of year again…

The trees may be donning brilliant shades of red, yellow and orange, but in the fashion world it is time to think pink.

We are just days away from the month of October and the kick off of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2008. Regular readers of this blog know that my mom is a breast cancer survivor and during the month of October I traditionally provide details on how you can get involved in the fight to conquer this insidious disease.

In the coming days look for blogs highlighting the efforts of hundreds of companies that are spreading the word by selling goods to fund cancer research. I know it’s still September, but I’ve already found a handful of fashionably hip charity products that you won’t feel guilty about splurging on—especially since your dollars are going to such a great cause.

DuWop—Designers created a one-of-a-kind wristlet purse and stocked it with pink shimmer Lip Venom. It’s called the “Purse Your Lips” set and is available at amazon.com for $24. Ten percent of the proceeds from this sale will go to help cancer research.

Red Envelope—Once again this company has come up with an entire line of “Think Pink” merchandise. From pink candles to pink suede slippers, pink jewelry and pink shawls… if it’s pink you’ll find it here. Ten percent of the proceeds from the items will benefit the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

Alex Woo—-This company is giving a whopping 100% of its sales from items such as the Little Pink Heart necklace and the Pink Ribbon ring to the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

Erin Condren—For $40 you can spread awareness and send a shout out to your BFFs with Erin Condren personalized stationery. Twenty dollars from each sale will be used to sponsor women in fundraisers such as the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer.
