Having a party can be a joyous occasion or the cause of one big long migraine, depending on your attitude and point of view. Actually, parties often are just as much fun (if not more) for the person hosting as for the guests, if one’s cards are correctly played. Some advantages to having a party in your house (apart from not having to drive home) are:
1. You know who’s coming. There will be no surprises because you invited everybody.
2. You can serve whatever you want. The host has complete control of the kitchen.
3. There’s always a comfortable place to be because you are home. You don’t have to feel left out and you can hide anywhere.
4. A possible ego trip. It’s nice when everyone praises your cooking (and no one would dare do otherwise until they are out of earshot).
5. Increase your social skills.
If you invite people over, you will have to talk to them sooner or later. (Unless you are a mother-in-law). In the case of most parties, it will be sooner. Make the most out o fit. Besides, people need people, like Barbara Streisand used to say (sing).
6.Networking
Parties are the perfect way to meet the next person you will need to climb your own personal ladder. And it beats the blues every time. Just start socializing and you will soon discover that many people have it worse (or at least just as bad) as you do.
6. One Good turn deserves another.
The perfect way to get invited to parties is to give one.
So what are you waiting for?
Have a party.
