Apple announced yesterday the launch of a new section of their popular iTunes music store dedicated specifically to Latin music. The iTunes store will sell top rated Latin music videos, television shows, podcasts, and audio books. The songs and television shows will be offered at the same price as traditional items in the iTunes store at $.99 per song and $1.99 per episode of a television program.
I have always been a huge fan of the iTunes store. I still have a few issues with purchasing music off the store, but I have really enjoyed a great deal of podcasts I have downloaded from the site. For me, I prefer to actually have the physical CD in my hands, complete with cover art and what not rather than just a digital version of the music.
The television download service can be excellent for taking episodes of your favorite shows with you on plane or car trips, or even to the gym. Recently iTunes has started offering movie downloads for $14.99 where users can download entire movies onto their computer and then transfer those movies to their iPod.
The podcasts section of the iTunes store is absolutely fantastic in my opinion. There are tons of podcasts available. While may of the podcasts do have a small fee required to download them, several great ones can be downloaded for free. I log into the iTunes store once every morning and all of my podcast subscriptions are updated, giving me something new to listen to while I’m at the gym or in the car on the way to work.
The creation of the Latin section of the iTunes store opens the store up to a whole new group of people. Apple has done well selling Latin music in the traditional iTunes store, which was part of the companies thoughts behind starting this new section of the store dedicated to the music genre. You can visit the Latin section of the iTunes store by loading up iTunes on your computer.
