Jalapeno-Blue Cheese Burgers with Firehouse French Fries

Never one to shy away from spicy dishes, I loved this one when I found it. The jalapeno and blue cheese combination is perfect for the burger and the firehouse fries (named so because they were invented by firefighters) can be made as spicy as you can stand them.

Jalapeno-Blue Cheese Burgers

For the burgers recipe, you will need two pounds of ground beef, six jalapeno peppers, crumbled blue cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, sliced Swiss cheese, and hamburger buns. To prep for this recipe, you will need to seed and chop your six jalapenos.

Preheat your grill on high. In a large bowl, mix the two pounds of ground beef, the chopped jalapenos, 8 ounces of blue cheese, 2 tablespoons of onion powder, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 teaspoons of salt. Pat the mixture into four large patties.

Place the patties on the grill and let them cook for about 8 minutes on each side, depending on how well done you want them. When they are almost done, add a slice of Swiss cheese to each patty. After the cheese is melted, remove them from the grill and serve with your favorite toppings!

Firehouse French Fries

For the French fries recipe, you will need frozen French fries, lemon pepper, dried red pepper seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, chili powder, and butter.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Place one 32-ounce package of French fries in a large casserole dish. Sprinkle 2 1/2 tablespoons of lemon pepper, 2 tablespoons of dried red pepper seasoning, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, and 2 pinches of chili powder over the French fries. Stir to distribute the seasoning evenly. Take 1/4 cup of butter, divide it into fours and place 1/4 in each corner of the dish. Bake the fries until crispy and brown, which should take about 15 minutes.

These are great served with ketchup or Ranch salad dressing (to take a little of the sting out). If they are too hot or not hot enough, play around with the spice amounts.
