Raise your hand if you thought Britney Spears’ teenage sister Jamie Lynn would actually make it down the aisle with her baby’s daddy, before their kid took her first steps.
That’s what I thought.
Now nearly a year-old, Maddie Briann may never see her parent’s union become legal, because word has it that Jamie Lynn has called off her dream wedding to boyfriend Casey Aldridge.
Britney’s baby sis had her first child last June when she was just 16 years old. Shortly after giving birth Jamie Lynn announced that she planned to marry her teen boy toy in an intimate ceremony near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.
So what derailed the teen’s plans?
According to OK! magazine, Jamie Lynn claims she doesn’t need a formal vow exchange to make her happy.
A source tells the magazine, “The wedding’s off. They are still in love, living together and very happy, but they have no plans to get married. Jamie Lynn has everything she wants and feels no need for a ring and piece of paper.”
Mind you, the latest report comes on the heels of rumors that claimed that the teen couple was living apart after Casey cheated on Jamie Lynn.
The former Zoey 101 star denied rumors of infidelity and the alleged split, and insists she is still living under the same roof as Casey and their baby daughter. The magazine also notes that the now 17-year-old has also decided to give up her acting career so she can focus on raising Maddie.
According to OK!: “Jamie Lynn has told friends and family she’s never coming back to Hollywood. She feels that part of her life is over. She enjoyed every minute of doing Zoey, but since she’s had Maddie, her life has changed completely.”
Jamie Lynn apparently is very happy being a Southern mother and reportedly hopes to continue adding to her brood for years to come with Casey right by her side.
