NASCAR superstar Jeff Gordon has announced his engagement to beautiful Belgian model/actress Ingrid Vandebosch. Vandebosch has reportedly had several celebrity relationships with Bruce Willis, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, and baseball player Brady Anderson. The couple began dating after they met on the set of the film Taxi in 2004. Vandebosch was playing a bank robber and Gordon made a small cameo appearance in the film. The couple actually became engaged in May. But, Gordon, a four-time NASCAR champion, chose to wait to make the announcement just before the June 24th Dodge/Save Mart 350 Nextel Cup race at the Infineon Raceway. It must have been good luck for him because he ended up winning not only the girl, but also that day’s race.
This will be the second marriage for Gordon, 34. His first marriage to Brooke Sealy ended after nine years in a highly publicized divorce in 2003. Sealy was a former NASCAR Winston Cup “Ms. Winston” and the couple had to keep their relationship secret for a while. They finally married in 1994 without a prenuptial agreement in place. When that marriage ended, Brooke wanted sole use of the couple’s $9 million dollar home in Florida and use of their airplane, a Falcon 200. She also wanted alimony, their Porsche and Mercedes, and expected Gordon to pay the salaries for her chef and housekeeper. Instead, the houses were sold and Sealy received a huge settlement of $15.3 million.
Will Gordon have a prenup this time around? No one is saying for sure, but after losing so much to his first wife, one can only assume that an ironclad prenup will be in place this time around. When asked about a prenup, Gordon has only replied, “Let’s just say she’s getting a guy who’s a lot smarter and much better this time around.” Of course, that could apply to his attitude about marriage and relationships in general, but experts think it is his way of saying he is protecting his money this marriage.
