Jennifer Aniston – A Rough Year

It seems that everywhere you turn today, you hear or see Jennifer Aniston’s name. Sometimes it is a story about her and new love Vince Vaughn and sometimes it is in relation to her ex-husband, Brad Pitt.

Jennifer has been on a roller coaster ride for the past year or so. It started when what we thought of as her “picture perfect” marriage to Brad ended. They seemed such an adorable couple, so in love, few of us could believe it when they announced their separation in January of 2005 after 4 1/2 years of marriage. Rumors of Brad canoodling with his Mr. and Mrs. Smith costar Angelina Jolie started to spread and eventually turned out to be true (whether it started before or after Jennifer and Brad’s separation is subject to debate).

America immediately rallied around its sweetheart Jennifer, but news of Brad and Angelina seemed to be everywhere. Then, while filming The Break-Up a alleged romance between Jennifer and her co-star Vince Vaughn surfaced. Denied for months by both, it became apparent through candid shots that Jennifer and Vince were indeed a couple. But, apparently she had learned much from her public break-up with Brad. Jennifer is keeping this romance mum from the press for the most part.

There has still been talk of an engagement, a wedding (including a joke that Oprah was footing an $8 million dollar bill for the wedding), and numerous breakups for various reasons between Jennifer and Vince. The latest gossip is that she is leaving Los Angeles to move to Chicago (Vince’s hometown). Hopefully, they are together, happy, and laughing at all the stir they are causing.

In addition to her divorce from Brad, Jennifer has also had problems at the box office recently. After the success of The Good Girl and Bruce Almighty, she suffered a set back with Derailed and Rumor Has It. But I am predicting that many people will turn out to see The Break-Up, which opens June 2, and Jennifer will be with us for a long time to come, making us laugh and making great movies.
