Jennifer Hudson Returns to the Spotlight and Tom Brady Says So Long to Single Life

Three months after her mother, brother and young nephew were brutally murdered in her hometown of Chicago, singer/actress Jennifer Hudson is returning to the spotlight.

The NFL just announced that the “American Idol” star will be singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida next month.

Hudson hasn’t appeared in public since her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were killed in a horrific murder spree last October. The Oscar-winner’s estranged brother-in-law has been charged in the killings.

Hudson is also reportedly scheduled to sing at the Grammys’ MusiCares event a few days after the February 1st Super Bowl.

Tom Brady won’t be playing in this year’s Super Bowl, but the football star has other things to keep him busy–like planning a wedding. (Or at least showing up for one.)

According to reports, the 31-year-old New England Patriots quarterback just popped the question to his supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bundchen. Sources say the couple got engaged in Los Angeles last weekend.

The Brazilian hottie reportedly received a diamond solitaire to go along with the romantic flower-filled proposal. The couple is said to be deciding between having a large wedding in the spring or hosting a more intimate and quicker ceremony in Costa Rica, where Bundchen has a home.

This will be the first marriage for both Brady and Bundchen.

The super hot wannabe actress almost got hitched to Leonardo DiCaprio, but the two split in 2005 before making their union legal. Likewise, Brady was involved with actress Bridget Moynahan when he first met Bundchen. The football star subsequently impregnated Moynahan and dumped her before hooking up with Bundchen. Meanwhile, Moynahan went on to give birth to Brady’s son John Edward Thomas in August 2007.

Can you guess who won’t be making an appearance at Brady and Bundchen’s wedding?
