Okay, maybe it’s a coincidence…
For those of you who haven’t already heard Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony released the name of their newborn twins a few days ago. Max and Emme were born on February 22nd. Emme was born at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and Max followed at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs.
Interestingly, Emmy and Max are also the names of the young Latino brother and sister team on PBS’ Dragon Tales. So, what are the chances that Lopez and Anthony are fans of the educational animated series? Anthony has three young children from previous relationships, perhaps they are avid fans of the show and inspired their father to name his fourth and fifth children after the cartoon kids who escape to a magical land filled with dragons.
Regardless, it appears both sides of the family have embraced the names. According to New York newspapers, Lopez’s mother Guadalupe recently picked up two gold-rope baby ID bracelets engraved with Max and Emme at a local jeweler while gifts including pillows and baby carriers with the twins’ names embroidered on them have been pouring in from members of Anthony’s family.
New York Giants’ wide receiver David Tyree (he’s the player who made that spectacular ball-to-helmet catch during the Giants’ victorious Super Bowl appearance earlier this month) has avoided the media spotlight regarding his twins’ names.
On February 20th, the football star’s wife, Leilah, gave birth to daughters Sophia and Hannah.
Apparently, there are no sibling characters on TV who share the same names.
The couple also has two sons, Teyon, 6, and Josiah, 3.
Finally, actress Jeri Ryan and her husband, chef Christophe Eme also share a connection to Lopez’s new daughter.
The 40-year-old “Shark” star gave birth to a baby girl Sunday in Los Angeles and named her Gisele Eme.
This is the couple’s first child together. Ryan also has a 13-year-old son, Alex, from a previous relationship.
