Jerry Seinfeld and George Clooney Returning to Primetime

I’m not sure which one I am more thrilled about.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry Seinfeld is finally returning to the small screen after more than a decade’s absence.

According to reports, the popular comedian turned actor is planning to star in a new sitcom for NBC called The Marriage Ref.

In an interview with Variety, the Seinfeld star show will tackle the highs and lows of married life.

“This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,” Seinfeld bemused. “After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.”

The series, which is reportedly being co-created with Oprah Winfrey’s executive producer Ellen Rakieten, will also feature a slew of celebrities discussing life as married folk.

No date has been set for the show’s premiere, though Seinfeld hinted that it would be on air sooner than later.

In the meantime, NBC has finally released the date many George Clooney fans have been waiting for.

The hunky star will be suiting up in his ER scrubs for one final episode on March 12th.

PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Clooney will be reuniting with his on-air love Julianna Margulies in an emotional episode that features Susan Sarandon as a grandmother grief-stricken over the sudden death of her grandson.

It’s been nearly a decade since Clooney’s character Dr. Doug Ross bid farewell to the hectic Chicago hospital. Ditto for Margulies, who exited the long-running NBC drama shortly after Clooney.

ER producers confirmed the upcoming episode will bring Clooney’s character back to Margulies’ nurse Carol Hathaway in a way that will be “fulfilling to viewers.”

No word on how writers intend to end the show. However, NBC execs revealed that the series began shooting its two-hour final episode earlier this week. ER’s series finale will air April 2.
