Most revolutions are started because a group of people really want to see some important changes happen. IHOP, however, has created a revolution designed to give people some free food. Join the Pancake Revolution, and become one of the people… who gets a free meal. Pancakes to the People!
Even if you aren’t someone who usually enjoys breakfast food, you probably still enjoy pancakes from time to time. Pancakes smell great, and you can top them with your favorite fresh fruit, or choice of syrup.
I recently had some of IHOP’s traditional buttermilk pancakes, with maple syrup on them, when I was coming home from a mini-vacation. I could have selected to have them topped with sliced bananas, or strawberries and whipped cream. Or, I could have gotten my pancakes made with anything from blueberries to chocolate chips mixed in. Pancakes are incredibly customizable.
The menu I was handed included food choices that would be more typically appropriate for lunch or dinner, and I could have picked one of those options if I so desired. One might not think that a chain restaurant named International House of Pancakes had things like cheeseburgers and steaks on their menu, but they do. They have a variety of choices, and all of them are inexpensive.
The IHOP that my husband and I stopped in recently was completely packed full of people. After placing our order, we had little to do except people watch, and become more hungry as time ticked by.
A large group at the next table ordered stacks of pancakes, and talked about exercise, and how much weight they had lost. They were having an ongoing debate about the best kind of running shoes, and the best way to prepare for a run. Across the room there was a woman with a baby, sitting with a woman I assume was the child’s grandmother. The baby squealed with delight when their food was served. People watching quickly became boring, and I started looking at the things that were sitting on the table.
This is where I first read about IHOPs Pancake Revolution. I think I will resort to reading just about anything when I am bored, hungry, and only half awake. This was, after all, an advertisement. It turned out to be an interesting one, however.
You can join the Pancake Revolution two ways. Either go to the IHOP Facebook page, or, visit the official IHOP website where the revolution is talked about. This revolution is free to join.
Just fill in your information, and IHOP will send you an email with a coupon for a free meal, just for joining the Pancake Revolution. You will also get a free meal at IHOP on your birthday, and on your one year anniversary of joining the Revolution. This gives you a total of three free meals! Those who join the Pancake Revolution can choose to get pancakes for their free meals, or, something else from the IHOP menu. The Revolution will not be televised… but it will be tasty!
