“Sex and the City” Girls to Work Together Again
Woohoo! It looks like one of my favorite shows, HBO’s “Sex and the City” have a followup movie made after all. “Sex and the City” ended its very successful six-year run on HBO in 2004, but fans clamored for more. They weren’t ready to let go of the girls – writer and fashion plate Carrie, hopeless romantic Charlotte, mom and lawyer Miranda, and sexy PR siren Samantha – whom many fans had come to consider their own girlfriends. Right after the series ended, there were talks of a movie, but reports were that feuding between Kim Cattrall (who played Samantha) and Sarah Jessica Parker (who played Carrie) caused the project to be delayed then dropped completely. Both stars denied any animosity and now Sarah Jessica Parker has confirmed that a movie is in the works.
Police Called to the Home of Hasselhoff’s Ex
We all know you don’t “hassle the Hoff,” but apparently David Hasselhoff thinks he can still hassle his ex-wife. Police were called the home of Pamela Bach last Monday (the day before the season premiere of Hasselhoff’s successful reality show “American’s Got Talent”) when an altercation allegedly occurred between the two. If you remember, Hasselhoff has recently been in the news for a drunken video recorded by his teenage daughter and his visitation rights were temporarily removed. Bach claims Hasselhoff became abusive after her brought over a pair of shoes for his oldest daughter Hayley, but Hasselhoff insists Bach became angry when he refused to speak to her. When will all parents learn to be civil to each other in front of their kids for the sake of the kids?
“Isaiah’s Out of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’”
It has been announced that Isaiah Washington, the actor on “Grey’s Anatomy” who caused so much controversy on the set with his homophobic slur directed at cast mate T.R. Knight, will not be returning to the popular show. It is believed that Washington’s behavior is the reason for his release, which was announced to the cast last night. What does Washington have to say about it? “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it any more,” he said through his publicist.
I don’t watch “Grey’s Anatomy” but I can’t help but wonder how much is enough to punish him for his actions? He apologized, attended rehab, met with gay leaders and released a public service announcement against using hate speech. If his behavior on the set is just too volatile, I can understand his release. But, if he is being released merely for the slur, just what does he have to do to redeem himself? We chastise people who make racial or ethical statements yet our justice system lets killers and drug dealers go free. I certainly don’t condone hate speech of any kind, but it makes me wonder exactly what an individual would have to do to redeem himself after a situation like that takes place.
