Jumping in with Both Feet

If you cannot be honest with yourself, who can you be honest with? It is important to be honest about your weaknesses, eating habits, and what you are willing to sacrifice, before beginning a diet. Do not go into a new lifestyle without the willingness to let go of your old lifestyle. Be careful of jumping into something new with both feet if one foot is unwilling to jump. That one foot can keep you from attaining your goals. You need to figure out what is holding you back. Is it lack of sleep? Is it nighttime cravings? Is it an injury that keeps you from working out? Is it cooking for your family that keeps you from making healthy choices? Is it that you just do not feel like making it a priority in your life? Did I hit your issue yet?

Dieting is about so much more then fitting into a pair of jeans. It is about living a new life. A new life built on health and self discipline. Losing weight for a clothing item or to look good for a special day is a short term goal at best. Once the dress is out of style and the special day is over the ice cream will be back out in full force. By the next event you will be faced once again with having to drop a few pounds. Good health is a long term goal built on commitment.

If you are deciding on when to begin a new life then stop deciding and start taking action. You may still have one foot unwilling to make that jump. Dieting is a verb. It is something you do not something you toss around input head or try to do half heatedly. You want a new life? Go out there and grab it. It can be done. You can reach the finish line but only with two feet.
