Over the last few weeks, I’ve been writing about weddings, ceremonies and more as May Marriage Month was celebrated. We’ve seen May Day come and go, Mother’s Day come and go, the end of the school year, graduations and of course, Memorial Day. May remains one of the busiest months on my personal calendar and I am ready to heave a sigh of relief as we make our journey from May into June.
The month of June is as popular if not more so for wedding than the month of May. I’ve been trying to come up with some ideas for a theme for the month of June. I could do wedding planning, but we’ve done our wedding planning throughout May – this doesn’t mean I won’t be doing more – I am going to focus on a few different aspects of marriage for June.
Couples Only Vacations
How about all you need to plan some couples only getaways for an evening, a weekend or longer? I’ll offer some ideas that are close to home and others to exotic locales and ways you can bring the exotic and far away closer to home.
Planning Your First Home Together
The first year of marriage can see couples moving in and setting up house. Sometimes they move into one or the other’s place, sometimes they move into a new place altogether. Their first home may be an apartment, a condo, a townhouse or a house house. Wherever their first home is, there are ways to make that house into a home.
Anniversary Celebrations
Who says your wedding day only comes once in your lifetime? You have years of anniversaries in front of you. Want some different ways to mark each year and make your anniversary more than just another day on the calendar, but a day of remarking the commitment and faith you have in your spouse and making every anniversary a real celebration.
Communication, Counseling, Coupletime and Compromise
Relationships are comprised of microcosms that exist in the macrocosm of their family and community. Understanding, communication and intimacy are vital to the health of the overall relationship. The tools you need, the opportunities you can take advantage of and identify what may or may not work for you. I’ll also continue our couple time and date night trends with new ideas, new films, new books and new destinations.
Thanks for letting me be a part of your day!
