Just Dance Kids

My neighbor down the street has Kinect for Xbox. I think it would be fun to not have to hold a controller while playing dance or fitness games. I think this would be a great option for children too. It takes a lot of coordination to figure out how to follow a game and use the controller. There’s a pink kid-size controller at Amazon that I want for Jessie. Maybe a better fit in her hand will help her play.

Not long ago Jessie and I played Just Dance 2 and had a great time. She did well on the dances that required jumping around. That’s Jessie’s dancing. She even has a special Go Away Kitty dance that is her jumping up and down while saying, “Go away kitty.” We had so much fun playing Just Dance 2 that I bought Just Dance Kids so she’d have a dance game that’s just for her.

I am really impressed with the game and highly recommend it. It’s got music for an older crowd and music for a younger crowd. The music for the older crowd is mostly pop music and tunes parents are familiar with. The music for the younger crowd is the songs we know by heart and songs off popular kids’ shows. The children doing the dance moves are entertaining and easy to follow.

Jessie doesn’t really understand the concept of doing what the children on screen are doing. Its funny because she dances along with her shows. She is content to sit and watch what’s happening on screen the way she would if she were watching her shows.

This is where the game could have improved upon itself. Children love repetition. The game should have a way to easily reply the last song or cycle through all songs without a break.
