If you can burn 150 calories walking for 30 minutes than playing Nintendo’s Just Dance video game will burn double. Through being involved with House Party I had the opportunity to review and have a Just Dance 2 Wii party. I was very excited since I have the first Just Dance and love it. It’s a family favorite. It is so much nicer to have a video game you get up and move to instead of staring at a screen.
Wii has provided yet another fun way to burn calories with Just Dance, Just Dance 2 and Just Dance for Kids. Just Dance for Kids has tracks like Wheels on the Bus and ABC by the Jackson 5. This is a great video game for little ones as the songs are appropriate and the moves are less “sexy”. It also features real children and not computer generated people. This inspired my 2 year old to dance her way to 1000s of points while she virtually ignored the Just Dance and Just Dance 2. The Just Dance and Just Dance 2 are filled with high energy music and fun dances to keep you challenged, entertained and moving.
If you are seeking a fun family night or night with friends on a cold winter’s evening, I highly recommend these video games. We had a dance party the other night and everyone got involved. My 12 year old daughter who thinks everyone is lame and would prefer to never been seen doing anything silly still danced her way through many of the tracks. We had a great time and burned off some calories at the same time. While this will not replace a work out routine, you can use this as a fun way to burn 100s of calories in a low pressure environment.
