There has been some talk about marriage and sex all across different areas of Families.com. Recently I discussed a series of articles that Beth has going in Mental Health. There has also been some discussion about sex and marriage and affairs in the forums with the talk of the controversy book, “When Good People have Affairs”.
Any of you keeping up with that forum already know that a new book was also introduced to the readers by Valorie. Valorie brought it to our attention that another unique tale of marriage was about to hit the shelves.
After becoming aware of this story, I had to do some research.
Valorie was exactly right.
It seems that Anna and Doug Brown decided to take on a new method of marriage enrichment and then write about their experiences.
After hearing many complain about the “dry” spells of sexless marriage, the two wanted to do something different. They determined that if couples can got through long amounts of time with no sex then the same can be done in reverse. That is couples can go for long periods of time with sex.
Considering that the spans of time without sex often cause strain and tension in a marriage, the couple thought that the length of time with sex was sure to have a positive impact on their relationship.
The couple made it their commitment to have sex each day for 101 straight days. Then they no longer carried out their commitment, but they also logged their experience and wrote a book about it. The book, “Just Do it”, will be available to readers on June 26.
Through the experience, the couple did find a new intimacy with one another. They touch more often and have more of a sensual relationship. However after the 101 days, the two decided to take a month’s break from sexual activity.
