Michele blogged earlier about Karina, Mario, and Mario, but is Karina trying to take one Mario out of the equation?
It must be all the sexy dancing or something because romance rumors seem to swirl around the “Dancing with the Stars” set and this week is no exception. There are rumors now that Karina Smirnoff might be trading in Mario Lopez for her current partner, R&B singer Mario. Karina and Mario Lopez have been a couple every since Mario finished in second place on Season 3.
But the New York Post is reporting that in February, Karina and singer Mario were seen at the Mercedes-Benz Oscar viewing party at the Four Seasons Hotel (gasp) kissing each other!
Karina is laughing off the rumors, saying, “By the end of the show, I will be pregnant with Mario’s baby!” Singer Mario added, “I love this woman! I love her personality! I’ve grown to love the person that she is, and you should feel that way about your partner!” with his rep adding that the two are not dating. Sources say Karina is still dating Mario Lopez and that singer Mario and Karina just have fun together.
Over on the “American Idol” set, David Archuleta’s dad is getting quite the reputation…as the stage parent from hell! When David sang a song no one knew last week (“You’re the Voice”), Simon Cowell accused him of not picking his own song. While David repeatedly said it was one of his favorite songs, TMZ is saying Simon was taking a jab at David’s Dad, Jeff Archuleta.
At age 17, David is the youngest Idol this season. While we have only gotten brief glimpses of Jeff in the audience, TMZ is reporting that when David was a contestant on “Star Search,” Jeff screamed at his son during rehearsals and even refused to give him water at one point, bringing David to tears and Jeff was finally ban from the set. David was named the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2.
However, Chikezie Eze, the most recently eliminated Idol, said that he was unaware of any tension on the set involving Jeff. I guess we will have to wait and see as right now, it seems as if David is going to go a long way in the competition.
