Katie and Britney—New Chances to Shine

Looks like Tom Cruise is going to have to wean Suri from her bottle by himself…

That’s because Suri’s mommy is going to be too busy flexing her acting muscle on Broadway.

She wanted it, and now it appears Katie Holmes got her wish to make her mark on the Great White Way.

The former “Dawson’s Creek” star and wife of Tom Cruise just landed a role in a revival of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons.” According to reports, Holmes will hit the stage this fall alongside John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson.

The play, which was first seen on Broadway in 1947, was Miller’s first Broadway hit. It focuses on businessman Joe Keller (Lithgow), whose factory supplies defective parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it’s his business partner who ends up going to jail for the mistake.

According to producers, Wiest will play Keller’s wife; Wilson, his idealistic son; and Holmes, the son’s fiancée and daughter of Keller’s disgraced partner.

Holmes was last seen professionally on the big screen earlier this year in “Mad Money” alongside Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah.

Meanwhile, fresh off a Costa Rican adventure with Mel Gibson, Britney Spears is reportedly in secret negotiations to stage a major comeback in Las Vegas, according to reports.

The pop star is apparently ready to show the world that she is no longer the head-shaving, pantyless, meltdown-prone party girl that she once was.

The paparazzi snapped Spears dining with Las Vegas hotel magnet George Maloof in Los Angeles Tuesday night, fueling speculation that her next show will be a Sin City extravaganza.

According to the National Enquirer, the reforming diva is planning a “multi-million dollar stage production she hopes will jump-start her career.”

A source tells the tabloid, “Britney wants to make a splashy comeback in Las Vegas. She wants the show to be full of high energy and flashy costume changes.”

Spears is reportedly in negotiations to perform a series of shows for an estimated $10 million, though nothing has been made official.
