I just do not know what storyline is crazier anymore – Anna Nicole or Britney Spears. Yesterday, it was announced that Britney’s estranged husband, Kevin Federline, has requested an emergency custody hearing. Britney and Kevin have two small children together – 17-month-old Sean Preston and 5-month-old Jayden James. Kevin had filed for sole custody of their sons after the two split. On February 1st, he was awarded temporary joint custody that would last until the end of this month.
Allan Parachini, a spokesman for the Superior Court, has confirmed that Kevin and his lawyer will appear today for an emergency hearing. No one seemed to know if Britney herself planned to show up or not. While it was not known exactly what issue Kevin would bring up, Parachini did say that Federline and his lawyer would try to convince the Superior Court commission that the matter was urgent and needed to be handled very promptly.
I always thought Britney made a mistake by marrying Kevin. I never found him particularly attractive and just pictured him as somewhat of a leech, just draining her of all the money he could. But since the separation was announced, Britney has gone from bad to worse. There was the flashing in Vegas, she has reportedly had two or three boyfriends, she and Paris were party BFFs for a while, and now, she has entered and exited rehab twice in the last week after shaving off all her hair. “Extra” is reporting that she left rehab early because she just could not handle it. Hello? It is rehab, not a stay at Club Med.
I do not know what the results of today’s courthouse appearance will be, but honestly, as much as I dislike Kevin, I am beginning to wonder if he might be the better parent for the kids, at least until Britney gets the help she needs. What do you think?
