“Kidz Bop” has done it again! This unique company which produces kid-friendly music from today’s hottest songs has created a DVD. “Kidz Bop: The Videos” takes nine songs from the original “Kidz Bop” albums, and creates fun kid-friendly videos. You and your child will sing and dance along to these awesome videos starring the Kidz Bop Kids.
“Since U Been Gone” is the first video on this DVD. It plays out as a sister and brother playing with a video camera as the girl lip syncs the song using a hairbrush as a microphone. Her brother decides to draw a band for her with a tiger on guitar, a walrus on drums, and an alligator on bass. The video flips from the video camera recording to the sister actually performing with a band in animal costumes in front of an audience full of kids. The end of the video makes it look like they recorded over a dance recital. It is very cute!
The video for “Beautiful Soul” shows the story of a shoe that accidentally gets thrown into the garbage when whoever is cleaning a boy’s room can not find the other one. This shoe goes all around town making new friends while he searches for his other half and the boy. It is a kooky little video with each of these shoes having a silly face. Conversation between the shoes is shown in subtitles at the bottom of the screen. This video should be called “Beautiful Sole.”
There are several other songs from the “Kidz Bop” albums featured. The video for the song “1985” is completely animated. It shows a band performing the song on a stage in a club. Kids are dancing all around the club and they begin to sing along with the band. “I Don’t Want to Be” features a dog showing how superficial his dog pals and their owners can be. A girl sings in a candlelit recording studio in “Breakaway.”
I would like to take this opportunity to say that as an adult, I did find some of the videos a bit confusing as how they might or might not relate to the song. On the other hand, my daughter and nephew loved the DVD. In any case, “Kidz Bop: The Videos” is sure to please the entire family.
