Kindergarten Math: Telling Time with Tibbar

Teaching Kindergarten math is one of my favorite things to do as a homeschool mom. The lessons are always fun, hands on, and entertaining for the student. One area of Kindergarten math study we focused on this year was telling time. Teaching a child to tell time can be a fun experience or quite exhausting. A child needs to learn how to tell time in two ways; analog and digital. Learning two formats can be difficult and boring for a child and frustrating for the parent. My little Kindergarten student was bored with telling time. Once she had a chance to study with Tibbar she found telling time fun and this made my job easier.

Who is Tibbar?

Tibbar is this adorable little rabbit who helps little ones tell time. SimplyFun is a company that sells board games, puzzles, and more fun items for the whole family. One of these items is Telling Time with Tibbar. My almost 3 year old has been having fun with this puzzle, game, and math fun as well. The clock is a puzzle and the child can put the numbers in the puzzle to reinforce fine motor skills and become familiar with the clock. The child can also move Tibbar’s hands around the clock to tell time. Telling Time with Tibbar focuses on telling time on three formats: digital, analog and 24 hour clock. My little student and my littlest student had a fun time while not only learning how to tell time but reinforcing fine motor skills and memory. While, my toddler could not appreciate the cards which come with Telling Time with Tibbar, my Kindergarten student had a great time matching up digital times analog times. The fun factor and the learning factor gets a 10 out of 10 from my kids. I love the convenient bag it comes in for storage. Telling time becomes easy to teach and fun to learn with Tibbar.
