Ks to Give Your Marriage a Kick

Okay I’m back on my alphabetical marriage hints. This time K is the main star. So here are some Ks to give your marriage a kick.

Kindness

One of the basic tools in any relationship needs to be kindness. So this week try and incorporate little acts of kindness , doing jobs for your spouse, maybe fixing that leaking tap or sowing that button on or picking up some shopping on your way home or sorting out the finances if your spouse finds it stressful or helping with the dishes or cooking a special meal or whatever it might be.

As well as doing little acts of kindness make sure your words to them and about them are kind. The sad reality is that often we see and hear marriages where the couples are unkind to each other. Even if they’re not unkind in a physical sense they often make unkind remarks about their spouse to others or to their spouse, putting them down instead of building up their confidence and self esteem.

Knitted Together

This is another one that came from my married daughter. What did she mean? She meant making sure you are knitted together in your marriage, that you both want the same things out of life, that hard times or financial difficulties draw you closer to each other rather than apart, that you share not only your home and your family but your thoughts, your free time, common interests and activities. There is a great joy in being knitted together with the one you loive. That’s really what the idea of soul mates is all about. Sharing our inner most selves with our spouse.

Kissy Kissy

Physical demonstrations of affection can be as simple as a quick kiss hello or goodbyeor something longer and more passionate. It could e a kiss placed on your spouse’s head as you pass by their. Experts tell us it’s a great way to relieves stress and those who do it are therefore healthier, so get kissy kissy with your spouse. And while were on the subject make sure you’re kissable – which means fresh breath. Make sure your kisses are reserved for your spouse and not handed out freely to others.
