Forgive me. I can’t help myself. I realize that they are many women in America who nixed Tour de France champ Lance Armstrong from their hottie list when he broke Sheryl Crow’s heart (after splitting from his wife and mother of his three children), but there’s something about the guy that compels me to keep blogging about his life.
I’ve written about his charitable work, his attempt at conquering the New York City Marathon and his rumored “bo-mance” with Matthew McConaughey. Now, it seems Armstrong has moved on from McConaughey and is romancing a new woman—-fashion designer Tory Burch.
Cycling star meets fashion designer… Hmmm. Sounds cozy. But, I had to see it to believe it—and recently I did. Pictures of the pair have been snapped (Burch bears a striking resemblance to Armstrong’s ex-fiancée Crow) and published in various entertainment magazines along with captions that read: “Lance and Tory getting cozy in L.A.”
Apparently, the seven-time Tour de France champ has been quietly dating Burch for months. According to sources close to the fashion designer “they are very much a couple.”
In fact, one magazine reports that the couple recently met up at Houston’s Hotel Derek earlier this month, where they “drank margaritas before heading off to a reception in Burch’s honor.” (Ironically, Crow was also in town at the time.)
Okay, so we’ve established Armstrong and Burch are dating—no big deal, right? To me the big deal is how they got together. According to PEOPLE magazine, Armstrong contacted Burch after reading her profile in Vanity Fair. (Oh, so that’s how celebs find dates…)
Speaking of finding dates—-or in this case swearing off dates… Freshly divorced actress and model Carmen Electra recently went on record saying she’s trading nightlife for home life.
“I’m not so much about going out so much anymore,” Electra told reporters at a charity fashion show.
Electra went on to say that since divorcing husband Dave Navarro, she’s passed on dating all together. Rather, she’s decided to hang out with old friends at home.
Wonder how long that will last?
