Have you ever waited until the last minute to do your shopping for someone or even for most of the people on your shopping list? Well, it happens to the best of us even when we don’t mean for it to. There are some very easy ways to avoid this happening, by stocking up throughout the year so that you have nice things on hand to give when you receive an unexpected gift or your put it off until the last minute. But not all of us plan ahead or remember to purchase things on clearance throughout the year.
For those of us who work that way, here is a nice list of items that make great last minute frugal gift ideas.
1. Candles – This is always a great gift. Most people absolutely love candles, and with the many colors and scents available, you are sure to find something quickly that fits your budget too. You can purchase candles at the dollar store and perhaps run to a discount chain and get a nice candle holder to go along with it. Total cost= $6.00-$10.00 and looks great. Stock up on sales throughout the year and put them away for last minute gifts anytime of year.
2. Gift Cards – Every year we pick up several gift cards to some of our favorite places – Borders, Barnes and Nobles, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Amazon.com. These are all places we shop at. We typically keep the prices down and purchase $10-$20 gift cards. If we receive an unexpected gift or realize we forgot to buy someone something we just give them a gift card. If we don’t wind up giving the card away, they spend just like money at the stores we visit all the time so we keep them and use them ourselves.
3. Frames – A nice frame is always a great fit and they come in a wide variety of colors, styles, and prices. Print out a picture to include in the frame and you have the perfect personal gift that didn’t cost a lot, and probably wasn’t hard to find.
